This map identifies elevations above “sea level” in the Tam Junction Business District, Birdland, and Kay Park neighborhoods (note that elevations are based on detailed observations and not official data).
Imagine a 7′ tide (there are several expected in December and January) combined with a storm surge of an additional foot or two. The Coyote Creek levees could be breached. And that is before sea levels really begin to rise. Add a foot of sea level rise over the next 10-15 years and one can start to see the nature of our community’s challenge.
